SPANISH FORT, Ala. — As the oil spill claims process changed hands Monday from BP PLC to independent claims czar Kenneth Feinberg’s Gulf Coast Claims Facility, some local residents began the arduous task of seeking compensation—again.

The Gulf Oil Spill Economic Recovery Task Force held a meeting in Tallahassee Wednesday to discuss the latest economic and environmental response to the spill.

Created in the shadow of the Deepwater Horizon explosion and what has been described as the largest marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry, the "Horn Island 26" exhibition at Memphis College of Art is more somber than its predecessors. "We were really concerned about whether we were going to make this trip," said MCA faculty member and expedition leader Don DuMont.
